My husband passed away this past July 14th. of complications from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He died a cruel and brutal death from a disease that is being MISDIAGNOSED as Parkinson's Disease. The Drs. and Neurologists must take the time and learn about PSP. This starts with loss of balance, slurred speech, eyes unable to look down, swallowing difficulty; weight loss, unable to urinate towards the end and was fully COMPENTENT to the end. He was trapped in his body. March 22,2000 he had a Feeding Tube inserted in his stomach; as he was losing 10# a month. He was under 100# when he died. He wound up with Aspiration Pnuemonia; which is the leading cause of death in PSP Patients. When they can't swallow; they choke on their own Saliva and Secretions. The DRS. MUST LISTEN AND HELP THESE PEOPLE.I am sick and tired of hearing of another patient on their way out.And there have been 5 since my husband. These families need help and understanding. Thank-You for reading this and you may contact me. I'm here to help. Thereishope2@yahoo.com Jan
