What could the possible cause be for angina symptoms in a 72 y.o. other than CAD? As described they mimic angina and are relieved by nitroglycerin spray; nitro patch is worn during daytime hours (18) and when off at night the pain occurs with frequent regularity. Cardiac angios reveal minimal coronary artery blockage. There is known peripheral vascular disease and carotid doppler testing shows significant bilateral blockage but no evidence of stroke or other neurological concerns.
