I am not a doctor, but have a no cost, easy suggestion that may help. Try cutting out all gluten (barley, rye, oats and wheat) and all dairy (milk, yogurt, cheese, butter, ice cream etc) for 10 days and see if your ears clear up. Mine always clear up and then when I slide back into eating the gluten and dairy, after about a month, they plug up again. I think it's a food sensitivity, not an out-right allergy that results in hives or the complete closing of the airway, just a sensitivity that results in chronic low grade symptoms like stuffiness and diminished hearing. Hope you give this simple solution a try. If you do, let me know how it works. There are many alternative foods you can eat. My local library has several gluten free cookbooks. Good Luck ~Lisa
