Eleven months ago I underwent total replacement of my left hip. I still have considerable discomfort in my left leg. This consists of muscle aches and a "bloated" sensation in the lower leg. My doctor says that every year he has two or three patients who take anything up to 18 months to lose all discomfort following the operation and invariably these are people with defective spines. I have a severely arthritic spine. Whilst I do not doubt his word I am concerned that there is no improvement from week to week, or even from month to month. In spite of the discomfort I manage to play 18 holes of golf twice a week, although the leg is very sore the following day. Has anyone had a similar experience to mine and, if so, are there any suggestions as to what I can do to improve my situation?
