Hello Everyone, I am hoping to give hope to you all. I live in England and have never met anybody with the same condition as me, it's nice to know that this support forum exists. I like you all have primary amenorrhea, I have breasts but have never had a period. I wanted a baby so badly, we went to see our specialist 4 1/2 years ago, I have since had 8 ovultion induction attempts, 4 times of which I did ovulate but didn't get pregnant! It also took alot longer than a 'normal' woman and I was on the injections for 2-3 weeks. After these attempts we were referred for IVF. The hospital nearest to us that offers IVF is 90 miles away so it was a long way to go but we thought worth it. It was only when we had tests done there that they also found that my husband had problems too, he has a low sperm count and poor motility, great I thought after all we'd already been through!! It was then that they said we could have ICSI along side the IVF. Well I am so happy to tell you that I got pregnant after the second attempt. I was shocked that after the 4 1/2 years on treatments that our dream was finally going to come true. Unfortunately though our dream was short lived and I lost the baby only last week at 6 weeks gestation. I have been reassured though by the hospital that the miscarriage was nothing to do with the amenorrhea just that 1 in 5 pregnancies do miscarry, we are now discussing maybe another IVF/ICSI attempt but to be honest it's too soon to make any plans. I know that there are many stages of Primary amenorrhea, varying diagnoses etc, but I just wanted to offer hope to all of you that would like children. The moral of my story is please never give up, it may take time but it's well worth it. Love. Karen.
