My husbands family has marfan syndrome. My mother-in-law died of it at age 45 and we did not know what happened. That was in 1964. Three years ago my brother-in-law died from it at age 45 and that was when we discovered what it was. My sister-in-law caught hers at age 42 & survived only to have another aneursym appear a year later. The Dr. in Lincoln replaced her aorta with a gortex aorta in May of 2000. She is slowly recovering at home now. She is alive and the aorta is working. There is hope and advancements going on all the time. Lincoln, NB is making great strives. I have two grown children getting to the age where it will be showing up. We have several siblings all in the 20's and 30's waiting to see what their fate may have planned for them. I am so worried because I know what it means for our family. I would like to hear any good news stories you might have that may give us some hope.
