I have a degenerative left hip which is starting to develop avascular necrosis from high doses of steriods from asthma. I now have secondary Addison's Disease. I am also a physcial therapist. I have treated many people post hip replacement surgery but not with sickle cell. The procedure today is so advanced most peopoe are out of the hospital in a few days. Most people are weight bearing as tolerated with an assistive device of cruthes or walker for 6 weeks then a cane then nothing.
