Hi Health Conscious Consumers: There's a good chance that my father's right eye has been permanently damaged by a careless surgeon who has given us very little hope of vision restoration. My father went into surgery with normal vision in both eyes. Now, he only sees a fuzzy black circle in the eye that was operated on. The surgeon says the incisions look like they're healing correctly and the blood flow in the back of the eye looks fine. Additionally, he states that the retina looks alright and doesn't appear damaged. Yet, he tells us that the retina and/or optic nerve aren't functioning properly. How can this be if the surgeon worked primarily on the front portion of the eye, and never did anything to the back of the eye. My father should have walked away with the same quality vision he had prior to the surgery! Something must have happened during the surgery to cause this problem because it just didn't happen out of the blue! But no one is willing to give us a straight answer. Do you have any suggestions? Has anyone ever come across a similar situation or know of someone who had a same experience? Please contact me at cdadavidson.aol.com. Thank you.
