On 12/29/99 my mother (68 yrs. old) was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It as wrapped around her blood vessels in her stomach. She stayed in the hospital until January 28, 1999. It had not spread-the treatment was chemo and radiation 5 days a week-off on the weekend for 6 weeks. She wore a fanny pack contraption for the chemo that was administered in her port. They did a pain block that stop her small intestine from working and from that day on she could not eat any more food. She was fed by a tube. She did not loose any of her hair from the chemo but the radiation burned her very badly. She finished all of the chemo and radiation and was seemed to be progressing. She was put back in the hospital for a week in February, they could not get her food regualted, she kept being disoriented. I can't remember the medical term. She passed on 3/14/00. I wished this had been available during her illness. I pray they find a cure and I pray that everyone with this terrible desease will be healed and live a long life.
