Lower back pain will get better but you must ice, stop lifting anything at all for a while, and try to find time as often as you can to lie flat with your knees bent and resting up on a chair or bench. From lot's of painful experience, I know that backs do get better, but that we have to do everything right to help the healing along. Motrin or another anti-inflammatory, taken four times a day is also helpful. There is a lot of information out on backs, but the basics are ice, rest, and anti-inflammatories until the pain goes away. After that, abdominal exercises to strengthen the pelvic girdle...and watch how you lift for the rest of your life! Good luck. Diana
