denise, thanks for your reply. I took mom to athens to st. marys hospital monday. we go to the pulmonoligest next tue. They did a cat scan and echo of the heart. He already told us he thinks its pulmonary fibrosis. He mentioned prednasone, but she already has osteoporosis so bad she breaks a rib just by bending over. she has just gotten over a craked backbone that she got by just laying in bed. She doesn't have enough breath to bathe herself. yesterday was a bad daay for her. she haad problems breathing all day.i took her her meals to herr room because she didn't have enough breath to come to the table. The doctors has told us befor that she has only the use of one third of her left lobe. they have always treated het for asthma and enphazema. no one has ever mentioned pulmonary fibrosis or going to a pulmonoligist until now. looking at the symptoms that ipf has, she has all the symptoms. I really don't feel she will be here long. I just hpoe and pray she won't suffer. Do you have any suggestions as to questions we can ask the doctor.Do you know what she will have to go through before the end? Her heart is so bad and with the lungs in as bad of condition as they are, they can't help the heart out, which puts a strain on her heart. Let me hear how your mother comes out at the doctor.
