Hello Denise, I just took my mom to a pulmonary spec. She just turned 80 this past May. She has been treated with Asthma and emphysema for the past 5-6 years. She has been on oxeygen for the past 4-5 years. She has had congestive heart failure for a number of years, but has had it at least 10-12 times since last Oct. She was hospitalized 7 times from Oct.1 to Jan 1. They finally found that her heart med. was poisining her system. I have had her in 2 times since Jan. plus the extra times I take her to the doctors office for extra laxis for the fluid acc. She has also got a heart problem. one of her Valves is not working properly, plus she has a blockage. Her heart beats to fast. they wanted to have a pace maker put in to help regulate her heart rate. Thats when we took her to a Pulmonary doctor. He seems to think she has Pulmonary Fibrosis. This is the first time I've heard of this. Her symtoms are all of what I pulled up on the computeer. She goes tomorrow to have a cat scan and echocardiogram. Then we go back to him Aug.2nd. I don"t know what questions to ask him . According to what I find on the computer she,s not good. She doesn't have enough breath to bath or put her clothes on her oxeygen level is 60 and her on oxygen. any advice would be app. Hope your mom does well. Catherine from Ga.
