my mother who is now 43 has lived with chrones disease since she was 18. She had many problems with it to the point she had an iliostomi done to hopefully stop severe cramps and blockages but it doesn't seem to have helped just prolonged the worst. About 20 years later after cramps and blockages that occoured she had another surgery to move her iliostomi which was on her left side to her right side thought to solve any problems. Well couple of yrs later which is now she has all sorts of health problems her intestine's were not absorbing nutrition at all she would get severe gout her kidney's were failing and in april her entire iliostomi bag was filled with blood and she had to under go surgery to remove a coroded peice of intestine that formed adhesions to other areas around her bellie from scar tissue from the previous surgery. Then she had a seaizure which she never had one in her life and messed up the wound. Then she seemed to get better. Her kidney's failed but she was put on dyalysis and she actually looked better than she ever did w/in the last couple of yr's. Then she ate pineaple (i don't know why!!) which for some reason causes her to have severe blockages. she thought she could handel it and cut it into small peices. For 20 yrs she has had problems with it. now my family is back to step one and we don't know how to help her. the doctor's here don't have the expertise to really help her. She has a trach and a drainage tube in her nose and now she is really depressed. Is there any information of how to get the correct health care she needs. Right now we plan to move her to a hospital in ny.
