My grandson has severe constipation, also. Have you taken him to see a pediatric gastroenterologist? If not this would help to give you some ideas. We used senocot also until I read about the muscles of the bowel becoming "used to" senocot and then relaxing too much to push the stool out. He is now 31/2 and we give him 1tsp of metamusal in am and one tsp in pm. He drinks this in gatorade, but watch for tooth decay as I am an RDH and Gatorade turns to acid on tooth surfaces. Just be sure to brush his teeth thoroughly after gatorade and/or scrub teeth with a childs wet washcloth. One other tip that has helped (sounds crazy) but I rented a bottled water machine for his mom's apartment, and he has so much fun mixing and making drinks that he drinks tons of water without even being co-erced. Drinking lots of water is impt when using metamusal type products. Good Luck and keep me posted! Judy Anne, RDH popsgrams@boone.net
