My four year old son has had seven febrile seizures within the last 2 1/2 years and after each seizure has some type of behavioral/speech change (that eventually tapers off). He either stutters strongly, or throws tantrums and gets angry, or (this last seizure) has major problems using the potty when he moves his bowels. He says "it hurts", and now poops in his pants. He has recently had an eeg which was normal. He has also recently been diagnosed with asperger's syndrome. Has anyone else out there experienced any behavioral changes in their child after their child had a febrile seizure? The neurologist seems to think that the febrile seizures are benign, but I am not convinced. I'm not sure if we should insist on further testing to make sure there is nothing else wrong. Thanks for your replies.
