Twice in one year, my breasts increased 3 sizes in one week. They got hard and totally uncomfortable. My gyn sent me for a mammogram. It showed a 5-7mm well rounded density probably benign in my left breast and suggested further study with an ultrasound. I have had surgery for two lumps in the left breast which were benign. The ultrasound showed numerous benign tumors and cysts in the 12 to 2 o'clock position. Both breasts are loaded with these growths. The gyn did a pelvic ultrasound and blood work and everything else showed normal. Prior to both episodes with the breasts I was on an antibiotic for upper respiratory infection. One antibiotic was biaxin and the other was zithromax (z pack). Is it possible that the breast eruption is due to an allergic reaction to the antibiotics? I am 52 years old and probably in perimenopause. Besides getting a new Dr. does anyone else have any ideas?
