Some types of Strep have become very resistant to antibiotics. You need to always finish your antibiotics. When you do not finish them, you are making yourself resistant to the infection, it will occure again and the antiobiotic that you were using will not work. If any type of sympton continues you need to contact your physician because the strep could still be harboring in your tonsils, adnoids etc.. My daughter had a period of one year that she had strep 15 times. After this we went to an ent to remove the tonsils and adnoids. Guess what she has only had one occuring infection in the past 3 years. Also, there are other types of infections that can harbor in the same area. If you get constant infection, sometimes it is wise to screen for other infections that feel like strep. Your doctor can send these tests to the hospital for other types of screening. My suggestion; finish your antiobiotic, plenty of fluid, and contact your doctor if you do not feel well in 3 - 5 days. Remember they are here to help
