I have a friend who does not have internet acces that would like to talk to other parents with children with Precocious Puberty. Her 3 yr. old daughter has been screened for this but I can't help thinking that her doctor is not doing enough. Her DHEA level is 166. The normal range for a child her age is 15-42. She is 65 lbs. and extremely tall for her age. The bone scan was read by a radiologist at 5.2 years, but then her endocrinologist re-read it and said it was only 4.2 years. The endocrinologist does not want to treat her with anything and is just "watching her" I think more can be done, she is even reluctant to diagnose her with PP. My friend started having her daughter screened at 2 years, so this has been going on for almost a year and her DHEA keeps going up and up. There is definately something wrong with this child. She has pubic hair growing and has an larger appetitie than any adult I know. Any information or ideas can be sent to my e-mail address and I will pass all information on to her. Thank you.
