My mother just got out of the hospital on 3/12/00 from COPD. She has acute Bronchitis and Empyhsema. She was a smoker until this hopspitalization. During hospitalization she was on a respirator for 7 days and had a very hard time. During a routine CT they found she has a dissecting AAA. I am told it is not of operative size yet at 4 cm but I am concerned because of the dissection. I could use more information on a dissecting AAA and the risks of surgery with a COPD patient. Thanks
