I am replying to the person who has had headaches since age 6, and I cannot click for reply...keep receiving "object 404 not.. Reply: If Migrane has definately been ruled out, I suggest finding a Pain Management Clinic in your area. They usually will more readily prescribe pain meds. I have had chronic sciatic pain for 7 years and also could not find a doctor who would prescribe pain med. for any length of time. Doctors are reluctant to prescribe, as in most areas it is against the law and their license can be taken away as pain meds can become addicting. As my only alternative is back surgery, with no guarantee, and the fact that I'm a heart patient surgery is risky. Even all the doctors I've seen don't recommend surgery. After four years of suffering, and when I reached the point of being suicidal, I went to a Pain Management Clinic and have been receiving pain meds under supervision. My new primary care physician concurs that, in my case, surgery is not an option for me, and is now prescribing my pain meds (strictly supervised).
