Healthlinkusa I have been suffering from an eye problem for over a year and there has been no cure as of yet. I have worn contact lenses for over 12 years with no problems up until one year ago. I had conjunctivitis and after then, I have been unable to wear my contact lenses. I have gone to a cornea specialist and was told I had "bumps" on my eyelids. We switched the makeup I was using to hypo-allergenic, I tried a myriad of allergy eye drops, and I am currently taking an antibiotic (Doxycycline) for almost 3 weeks. To date, there has been no difference with wearing the contacts. Even without the lenses in, I can feel a "dry eye" sensation. I have tried the punctal plugs (the temporary ones) with no success. The last option I was told was the "permanent plugs". I am desperate to get some advice on what other options I should try or if there is a reccommended specialist I should go to? thank you for your help.
