I am 4-1/2 months post-op from a blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and dealing with two issues. 1) Dry eyes due to inability to close my eyes completely with some uncontrolled tearing at nightime. (A little too much excess skin was removed). 2) Scars still slightly raised, especially on the inner corners of upper eyelids. Issue #1 is not noticeable and I've managed to control the discomfort with eye drops during the day and eye ointment at bedtime. Issue #2 is harder to conceal (makeup seems to accentuate the scar) and I have not noticed any further healing in the past few weeks. I am told the reason that the scars have not healed properly is because of the tightness on the lids and the tension on the scars. Can anyone share any words of wisdom? Can I expect further healing, if so, how long? Am I just being impatient? Any suggestions for the scars, i.e. laser, chemical peel,??? I've used some Retin A and have had 2 microdermabrasion treatments on my lids. I am currently trying hydrocortizone creme during the day and silicone gel strips at night.
