I certainly sympathize with you & think you DEFINENTLY should see another Urol., at least. You do NOT hae IC or you would NOT be having bacteria. I HAVE IC and despite taking Proloprim which is to PREVENT UTI's & HAS, I was getting them about as often you youare until I began the Proploprim but een so, have one right now & ha done justa year ago right now..not good but it WaS a LOT worse. I have fought bladder problems for 58 years..had IC LONG beor eit was known & when Ihad TERRIBLE flares & there was NO bacteria, I was always told it was "all in you rheqd" which was infuriating. FINALLY, after eeing abut 100 urols, they came up w/IC. I can't TAKE antibiotics so I hae a real problem. Have they tried Flagyl? I took a LOT of Bactrim but I get speudomembraneous enterocolitis from antibiotics but, sicne Bactrim is a sulpha, I THOUGHT I was safe but got the Pseudo stuff on THAT, too! SO, with YOUR complications, you should see another Urol as these constant infections CAN affect the kidneys.. as an RN, you KNOW that.In the meantime, think about cleansing the anal area with an antibotic cream after each bowel movement.
