Leg Pain and Hypoglycemia

Message 1 of 4 Next

I am a 31 year old female that had hypoglycemia as a teenager. I had 6 hour glucose tolerance tests every other month. My readings were usually so low the digital monitor would read LLL, rather than a number. I am still hypoglycemic, however, not to the extent I was as a teenager. I don't use any special diet. However, I read your response about leg pain and hypoglycemia. I have always had this occasional pain that starts in my feet, gradually works up into my lower legs, and occasionally makes its way to my hips. My doctor used to tell me it was because my sugar level was too low and to eat something sweet or get sugar in me, (OJ with a spoonful of sugar or something). I thought he was nuts, however, I continue to have this pain but it seems to have worsened over the years. It is very hard to describe and nothing seems to relieve it. It is an aching that kinda feels like your legs feel after you have sat on them and they went to sleep, without the tingling. I do have restless leg syndrome and the aching is very different with it. Is there anything I can do to relieve the pain. I did have nerve conduction tests and it was negative. It was mainly for the RLS. Any input of things I can do to help relieve the pain would be greatly appreciated. Is this pain something to be alarmed about? Is is telling me something as it travels up my legs and what does the leg have to do with hypoglycemia. I just don't understand.
