Barbara: I just got home today from Mayo Clinic and have also been diagnosed with Dystonia. Ihave had this problem which has progressly gotten worse over the last two years. Every test done in this length of time have all been been NEGATIVE! I have had MRI's to boot and EMG's, every possible test a nuerologist can possibly order including a spinal tap for MS and also have been checked for lyme's disease. My spasms are focussed to the right side which involves unvoluntary spasms and twitching in my right hand and right leg and foot. I have no use whatsoever of my right hand due to the fact that my fingers spread wide open involuntarily and I cannot close my hand at all. Pain? YES! The neurologist at Mayo has given me a prescriptions of sinimet and wants me to increase the doses weekly until I have reached 9 pills daily! What type of treatment did trhey give you? Please...I am desparate!
