Sarcoidosis is a disease without a known cause. It can be mild or very serious. It is critical that a pulmonologist be consulted. If you are near a University, call and ask if any staff members regularily treat sarcoid patients. Follow-up is very important. Regular liver enzyme tests and xrays will be taken to monitor the disease. Sarcoid causes granulomas to form on internal organs and other places, for example feet. The disease doesnt follow any predictable course. Sometimes the disease can be very serious so please listen to your doctor! A specialist will be required. Mine burned out several years after diagnosis. However, I still have granulomas in the lymph nodes in my chest. There is lots of great information on the internet-check the American Lung Association, sarcoidosis foundation, etc. Good Luck! Hhg
