I had a tooth pulled in Sept 98, in the process of the tooth being pulled the dentist put a hole in my sinus. I did not find this out til a year later, July 99. I had over 10 sinus infections, food coming out of my nose, mucus and pus drainging from the hole in my mouth where the tooth was pulled and wasn't able to taste or smell any kind of food. I finally found 2 good doctors to perform a two part surgery in Sept.99, the first part was an oral surgeon went through the mouth and closed up the hole in the mouth but because the infection was so bad, it infected another tooth so I lost that tooth. The second part was an ENT specialist went through the nose to close the hole in the sinus. After surgery it was a long recovery, it was a nightmare. I was doing good, until a month ago, I started having the same problems I had before with the sinus infections, so I am now told that the surgery may not have worked, and I am starting all over again. The oral part of my surgery has giving me no problems, yet I am still facing implants or a plate to be placed in the area where I have missing teeth and in order for that to happen I need a bone transplant because I have no bone in that area of my mouth. Now my major problem is the sinus. I guess what I would like to know is there anyone out there that this has happened or happening to? I need some info, advice. Please help, I am living a nightmare.
