I am a 75 year old male diagnosed with shingles in December. The first couple of weeks were bad, and when I finally got the right diagnosis my doctor told me that there was no effective medication for at this later date. Finally the pain subsided and the lesions(all on the left side of head and scalp)have all but disappeared. Questions: I still have head itching, and some small scabby areas, and am about to go back to my doctor. Anyone had shingles on the scalp? Anyone experienced medication treatment which seemed to cure the shingles?
