You didn't state how bad her curvature is. My 14 yr old daughter has a 22 degree lumbar curve - 13 degrees in her brace. She's been wearing a Bostom TLSO brace since last July and MD suggested at that time that she'd wear it for one year. Her curve has stayed the same since getting the brace. She's to wear hers 16 hrs/day but wears it about 10-12. She doesn't wear it to school or to play sports. MD said that's ok - better she wear it 10-12 hrs than not at all. You can't see it under her clothes and her friends support her. She does complain though that it's uncomfortable to sleep in though I guess like anything you get used to it.
