I was just diagnosed with cervical adenocarcinoma. I will see a surgeon tomorrow. I am 41 and have 4 children so having a hysterectomy will not be as devastating to me as it would for someone who hasn't had children. My gynecologist told me that adenocarcinoma is a glandular cancer and is not what the PAP screens for. The PAP screens for squamous cells and if detected early is pre-cancerous. Only about 5% of cervical cancers are adenocarcinoma and are not caused by stds. Squamous cell cervical cancer make up about 95% of all cervical cancers and supposedly can be caused by stds.
