I have a five year old daughter that had a shunt put in at 2 days old. The shunt was infected at 9 days old and she spent 10 weeks in the hospital. Not only did she live but the doctors were wrong about the fact that she would be blind, deaf, and not function over a 6 month old level. She is a walking, talking, musical, comedy queen. My problem is I believe she is obsessive-compulsive and everything has to be arranged and done NOW. I recently found out that I am pregnant and I don't know how to prepare her for "I will fix you a drink in a minute- I am feeding the baby" or "You can brush your teeth after I change the baby's diaper." I have managed her and a 10-year-old daughter alone for 3 years now but I have a feeling my patience will be tried and I will fail. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE HELPFUL!!!!
