Hi, I've had AS for 8 years now and know how hard it can be to get the docter's to listen and give you information. Although they have the digrees, we have the disease and know how the disease affects us. Now if the specialist hospital is for joint disease like mine, find out if your local general hospital has got a hydrotherapy pool. If it has ask your GP to refer you there. I don't know if you have had hydro before , but it eases alot of my pain and stiffness. You should also keep a eye on your depression it will stop you from making any improvment, I got it so bad I can't go out now. If you get a chance go to www.kickas.org it's a website for AS sufferers and has alot of great info and forums that give you a chance to talk to other people with AS. I'm sure al the docters and physios have told you that exercise is really important and it is but don't over do it, and when you are in alot of pain, which with me is most of the time, try a hot bath before the exercise. Well i'd better go now but don't forget keep your chin up, your not alone there is always somebody to talk to on the net. All the best Paul.
