Last week, I had sinus surgery on the right side of my nose. The doctor removed infected tissue. Since then, and for the first time in more than five years, I no longer have heat sensations. I know now that what everyone else was calling "hot flashes" was really a cooling problem due to the sinus infection. After surgery, I was given Tynenol #3 (codine), got a severe headache and threw up for 10 hours. A week later, I finally began to recover from the ordeal when I was told I had to go back and have a sinus shunt removed. I was never told it was there. The doctor gave me a spray anesthetic twice which did not work. After much agony, pain, hysteria, crying, screaming, etc, etc., he gave up. He could not get it out. He tells me it is dissolvable--but I wonder. What now?
