My 8 yr old daughter was born with Chronic Tonsilitis. I was told that she would grow out of them. Well, she didn't! They finally decided to take them out this past October, which was a huge relief for me. About 1 week after her surgery, I noticed lumps in her neck. When I took her back to the specialist for her post-op check, he said that they were swollen lymph nodes from the surgery, and they should return to normal in a few weeks. Well, in December they were still there. I immediatley called our peditrician who told me it was "Cat Scratch Fever" and that I should get rid of my cat for a few days and see what happens! Can you believe it! I wasn't happy with that diagnosis. I then called the Ears,Nose and Throat Specialist who performed the tonsilectomy. After examining her, he put her on Septra for the next 10 days. Today was her last dose, and now I await her appointment. I have been on pins and needles this whole time. Losing sleep, I can't eat, I can't even concentrate. I am just so worried! It took so much for my little girl to be here. She was a premature baby, weighing only 2 pounds 2 ounce at birth. She spent 4 1/2 months in and neonatal ICU. It tooks months before I was able to hold her. It drives me crazy to think that something can be wrong with her!!! I know that I am taking this a little extreme. But, I just can't help it! I love my children so much, and I don't wish anything but for them to be healthy and happy! I just needed to get this out. Acutally, I feel alittle better that I did.
