I haed chicken pox when I was pregnant and it was perfectly awful - my sympathies. No harm to the baby, but I sat up all one night crying because I was afraid to scratch and they didn't want to give me any anti-itch medicine. ( this was in 1962) they're probably even more afraid these days. I had no after effects, but 30 years later did have an attack of shingles. Scientists say the virus can hide around our tail bones and lay dormant for many years - then pop out again in a new symptom. You will be fine and your baby will probably have a life long immunity to the herpes zoster virus!
