Ihave PVNS for 11 yrs now. So far I have had 5 Operations and Yttrium treatment, as well as the occasional draining session. My last operation (open synovectomy), seems to have been a sucess in that I now have only around 10 per cent of the growth left in my knee, which can be controlled by anti inflamitories. As my Orthopedic Surgeon explained the problem with PVNS is that it is like trying to get glue out of a carpet, being micorscopic. Although I have permenant damage to the bone structure in my joint now, things seem to being going along ok. I hope that your case gets better, and life returns to normal for you.
