I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer 8/99. PSA prior to radical prostectomy was 9.4 with Gleason score before surgery 3+ or 4. Approximately 2 months after surgery, my PSA was .4. I finished the recommended 7 weeks of radiation 2 weeks ago. The radiology oncologist explained that in years past, radiation was delayed until the PSA went higher. He explained that the PSA does always go higher, with time, and that the current recommendations were to start radiation earlier "for a better head start" on the remaining CA cells. I hope this helps----Richard
