Hello! It really sounds like you are having a type of seizure. Dilantin is good for seizures that begin and stay generalized in the brain (as oppossed to being partial)..and Dilantin is NOT good for other types of seizures, and is also not good to take unless you have to, because it causes lots and lots of side-effects long-term (my husband's whole family just about was on Dilantin for years). It is extreemly important to see a neurologist that SPECIALIZES in seizures, and who will not stop till they know what is going on. EEG's and MRI's being normal means nothing, unless you are being tested DURING an episode or seizure. The way they do this is to admit you into the hospital for a week or more, hooked up 24 hrs. a day to an EEG and monitors, ect. and then watch your brain actually have the seizure or episode. This is the only true, conclusive way to know what is happening in your brain and what type of medication is appropriate. And, just because a medication will stop you from having seizures does not mean it is the most appropriate med.~~get with a good neurologist. You are experiencing something real! My hubby and his family members went decades on the wrong medication for their seizures. Dilantin caused many problems that we were not told about. If you need any more help, feel free to e-mail me. ~~Anna
