I understand that a person with narcolepsy tends to have excessive daytime drowsiness. I sleep about 5-6 hours a night and am very energetic as long as I am standing, talking, etc. When I sit down or lay down, I'm able to fall asleep very quickly. I fall asleep after about 45 minutes in a vehicle whether I'm driving or a passenger. I do feel the sleepiness coming on, but only seconds to maybe a minute before I actually fall asleep. I find it very difficult to read, watch tv, etc. without getting extremely drowsy and falling asleep after just a few minutes. When I go to bed at night, I seem to fall asleep immediately. How do I know whether I just have an incredible ability to relax and fall asleep or have narcolepsy or some other related condition? With narcolepsy, is it possible for one to be so extreme in their range of energy? Thank you in advance.
