I was diagnosed Beta Thalassemia Minor about 9 years ago when I was pregnant. I don't feel too bad although my hemoglobin was low (7.9) through out the pregnancy. After I have cesarean my hemoglobin down to 5.8, but my hemoglobin went up to 10.5 in two weeks. My mom cooked me the soup with some kind of jelly made of donkey skins, Chinese data, walnuts, and brown sugar. This is Chinese ancient recipe for anemic people. I feel perfectly normal if I am not pregnant. I found that when I’m getting older I start to have less energy. I don’t know that because my Thalassemia or my age (I’m 40 now). I found a natural supplement called Spirulina that can give you more energy and not feel tired. But different people may react differently. High protein diet and excise will also help.
