Sally
I have been diagnosed with REM Sleep Behavior disorder. I have been to a sleep clinic and they only want to hook me up to a machine to correct sleep apnea. Now my research shows no connection between REM disorder and apnea. Can't seem to find help for me. Does anyone out there know how to help me or who to go to in the Birmingham area? My primary doctor laughed at me when I told him I'm getting up and acting out my dreams. Said he's never heard of it. In the meantime, I'm hurting myself and my husband each night. I scream, kick, bite and say nasty words I would never, ever say in a waking state. I have even gotten up with my gun in my hand and tried to shoot someone I could plainly see in the corner of my bedroom. The only thing that saved me was I couldn't get the safety off the gun to shoot.I know this sounds funny to some, but in my house its very, very serious. I have already badly bruised myself and my husband. Even have broken lamps, night stands and a window. Someone, please help me.
