Beth
I too had RSD and after 10 sympathetic nerve blocks done under radioflouroscopy plus dietary changes (no red meat, chocolate, alcohol and caffeine as they have neurotoxins), physical therapy with a knowledgeable therapist who does craniosacral and other techniques to get rid of fascial tension, epson salt baths, mind-body stuff to help me relax. I have been in remission for about 9 mos. My RSD was so back I was wheelchair bound. I now walk without any canes! I had it in my right side foot, leg, back , shoulder, hand, neck and heart and lungs. I work with a neurologist, pain doctor/anesthesiologist and PT. I am allergic to meds so I cannot take neurontin which is supposed to help. The nerve blocks that were done used buffered procaine and marcaine. My doc did not use cortisone. I wish you much luck!
