Bill A.
I am 37 now and was diagnosed with FD when I was about 10. I was into football, basebase, lacross, you name it... I was told "No more." Sure it was tough, but I worked hard at what I was allowed to do: Swimming, Tennis, Bike riding. (Although I never did enjoy tennis!) By my senior year of High School I was the captain of the Boy's swim team. I have FD in my Tibia, Fibia and Femur in my right leg. No real pain my whole life and no surgeries either (except for the initial biopsy). I was told as a kid that it "goes away" when you get older so I never worried about it.... I'm sorry to read up on this and find people in pain and other troubles because of it... If your child just got diagnosed, don't over worry! Things might turn out just fine, like they did for me.
