My son, who is now four, had several problems as far back as I can remember, and his doc at the time, with the approval of an ENT specialist, and at our request, had his tonsils and adenoids removed at the age of three. Ty would get several infections every other month, poor appetite, his chronic asthma became acute, and he had these infections that he would run fevers....show neg for strep, then at the most inconvenient of times, (usually in the middle of the night, you would see white spots all over, and his tonsils were as big as jaw-breakers!(you know, the gum). Anyway as I blabber away......one night, while my husband was away on business, Ty's tonsils were so bad that the pus was running our down his mouth and he was drooling it!! He was just at the doc the day before for one of those "viruses". The poor doc was so upset to see him in this condition the next day that he chastised himself for not catching it, but he did happen to test neg for strep that day before! Of course when I brought him back after that fateful night he tested positive for strep. (I did bring him to the emergency room that night, and he also tested neg for strep, but they gave him meds anyway because of the fever. I guess what I'm saying is after what we went through, if he's not to young at this time, to get those suckers out!!!! By the way, he's hardly ever sick now, a cold stays just that, a cold. No more throat infections, chest infections, and his asthma is very much under control. He only gets the asthma now whenever the seasons turn over on to another. The viral triggers are no longer triggers!
